Anyone fighting in crown should have a period appropriate kit. (my opinion only) What king instituted that rule, and how did it go over with the populace? Jar...

I was also going to note, Crown is not our biggest tournament. Ursulmas, a winter demo/tourney in the Seattle area, regularly pulls fighters well over 100 fighters. This past Ursulmas had 160 fighters. 8 fields of 20 fighters doing a round robin on their field. The top 2 from each field advanced int...

Out this away, the expectation is that the chattel can join in the entertainment. Fighting in tourney and fighting well is a test. My ability to win crown is directly related to how many people I can food poison, and even a few of those people will need to get "Kerriganed". I can fight in ...

I like the details on the pics, I usually take pictures of the cards the information is stored on. You should upload these on the A&AF, they'd like them too! I usually do as well, I was running a bit tired. Left Pennsic, drove to the museum. Then ran through before closing. Pardon my ignorance,...

No worries. I figure a lot of the stuff has shots that can be found of the whole thing, but close ups of various parts are a little harder to find.

Pictures from the Metropilitan Musuem of Art.

Negroli was a pimp.

No editing done, except to upload them in a smaller size.

I am on the martial sport bandwagon. I consider most EMA as a martial sport anymore though. Any martial activity that has tournaments that competitors have rules that they have to abide by, becomes a sport. I noticed this as a kid when I tried to do Tae Kwon Do, it was one of the popular tournament ...

In the middle where I mostly fight the tradition is to crowd your legged opponent and jam your cup into his grill. Classy. Yeah, noticed that difference at Pennsic. I learned to keep the edge of my shield pointed at my opponent in case they felt like jumping me. Out here, we have a "only 1 sho...

It's repeated head trauma in general, not just to the point of KO that can be problematic. After the first injury, subsequent injuries are easier to obtain.
