I appreciate your enthusiasm, but can you use the privmsg feature to "private message" folks on armour that hasn't been talked about in 6+ months? Instead of having a full page of you asking if an armour that was listed a while back is still available?

Sugarloaf dating, and representations thereof

Was looking through old threads (like this one m) and was stumped trying to find later representations of sugarloafs. Lutrell and Romance of Alexander seem to show up as the most cited. I am wondering if folks know of any other artwork or effigies (english preferred) that run later than 1340. 1350-1...

Anything with gap between your face and the grill. You're probably going to be best served by something with a pivoting visor.

You might want to try http://www.macphersonleather.com/

They sell wholesale, and they have an SCA discount. Plus they are just up in Seattle.

Closer (I think) to your neck of the woods is http://www.oregonleatherco.com/ They usually have pretty good scrap in the Portland store

You might want to check Craiglslist in your local area. Here in the seattle area you can get canon 20d's for under $300 (oddly cheaper than the digital rebels). They are the a durable camera that take good pics. When dealing with Canon's, I recommend investing in lenses more than bodies.

Mine is curved, and eventually it bent as well. Lasted about a year, which was more than I had hoped for.

I run mine in a vertically strapped fashion. Every month or so, I have been re-curving it. I will probably add a reinforcing bar on my next one.

I took another look at Oliver Ingham as you mentioned, to me it looks like a straight-leg effigy with one foot turned a bit - somewhat of a more dynamic pose than the rail-straight effigies. More interesting about the Ingham effigy is the arm placement! It's the right knee pointed out that leads me...

That particular style of leg placement is rare. The closest I know is Gilbert Marshall (1241) . The details don't match, but if I had to hazard a guess, it would be that your piece is inspired by this one. Nice! I guess I blend all of the chain and sword guys together, as I had never noticed that o...

the only one that I know of tha uses that odd leg placement is Sir Oliver Ingham in Norfolk. The legs were already gone by the 1830's, when Monumental Effigies of Great Britain was done. The body position though, and what can be seen of the legs, points to an odd twisting, almost as if "shipwre...
