It was made by AB Hammer. I purchased it through Known World Treasures. Custom made because I have a little bean for a head.

Thanks for adding my kit to the thread.
To be honest I thought mine is coming along but didn't quite meet the same standard as the ones that had already been posted.

Re: Post fighting muscle cramps
I have always had muscle cramps from fighting, although almost always from all-day war fighting in hot weather. I would usually get them much later, like bedtime (when I lay down especially). This is sometimes call "night cramps". I think some cramps are not potassium/mg/ca related at all...

Re: "How could we help improve the look of the SCA"
I made to show how someone could make a great looking armour with a minimal amount of experience and limited tools. It was offered as a “Kit”. Now, the cuirass is based on an erroneous construction done at the Metropolitan museum in the early 20th C., but it is not a complete fantasy design in my o...

I asked Laureen for more info this morning and she said "Everyone says potassium but forgets calcium." Everyone except Isabella E and my lady, apparently... And yes, I know I'm older than you. That doesn't make you young! I'm in medic class and we were just talking about muscle spasms due...

Re: Health and Fitness in SCA Combat
I think that perhaps there is an issue of semantics. Will Livia ever be as strong as a man? I don't think that matters. I think that she needs to develop enough muscular strength and endurance to consistently deliver enough force in her strikes that are (in the least) at the low end of acceptable f...

Those are really slick. Having made several pairs of plastic greaves, it would have been a hell of a lot less hassle to just do that instead.

Re: Is there a "NO PLASTIC. PERIOD" Movement in the SCA?
I just don't care what anybody makes their armor out of anymore as long as they made it look good. Being perfectly historical is an awesome goal to strive for but it's unrealistic for a lot of people.

Re: Coat of Plates or Breast & Back - which is safer for SCA
Choice of materials makes just as much a difference for those questions as the type of protection. Foam and plastic are going to be hotter than metal and leather. What you wear underneath it makes a difference too. I live in Arizona, and I wear a simple linen arming coat underneath a fabric covered ...

Re: Health and Fitness in SCA Combat
Many women I have met who are very fit do not do any real strength training. If you want to be strong as a woman unless you're genetically really lucky you're going to have to do specific training to become strong. There's more than one way to go about it too. Aside from learning good technique and ...

Re: Idea for hidden female armor.
I suspect the belt itself is just as big a culprit as the legs. A properly shaped C belt can eliminate a lot of discomfort. My first pair of legs were hung from a weight belt and the belt dug into my hips pretty badly. Once I made a c belt it eliminated the majority of the problems with my cuisses. ...

If you want to do a specific impression from the ground up, you're probably better off doing it yourself or getting help rather than just trying to buy up armor from other women. Same gender doesn't guarantee a good fit. There's a lot of good advice here on the Archive about how to do a specific tim...

It's too damn hot here to wear a parka under your gear. I pad my armor with a couple of layers of felt, which takes the sting and bruises out of quite a lot of shots, and I wear a linen arming coat of 2 layers under that. In the summer I wear under armor heat gear too. I don't have a lot in the way ...

I have a pair of his hourglass gauntlets and I've also taken some good shots to the hands and haven't had any injuries yet. Plastic splinted defenses are super easy to make, low skill necessary and pretty cheap! You can make coats of plates or fabric covered breastplates the same way and look good without investing a lot of money.

I've actually had more success organizing a&s stuff and teaching not being an officer than I ever did as the a&s officer for my group. I sometimes wonder if filling so many offices even helps our organization at all.
