There are only a few armorers that I can think of who are making them with fingers that ground against the haft. Darkheart armory is the one that comes immediately to mind but they are pricey. (Worth every penny though)

The heels are pretty crappy on those boots. My husband's blew out within the first couple months of wearing them. My philosophy on shoes is pretty much now that you get what you pay for.

A jigsaw and a BBQ.

I made a paper template, cut the plastic and put it on a cookie sheet on the grill. Then I just formed it to my leg. I cleaned up the edges a bit with a box knife then glued fabric on both sides and sewed on the edging to make them look neatly finished.

Cooked myself up greaves this week. I'm pretty happy with the shape overall, though one of them turned out a little weird on the bottom. All that remains is putting on the splints and straps.
