I am going to put some nice shaped splints on the outside so I'm probably not going to paint them, but just stain them nicely. I want thinking of doing some neat painting to the dagged decorated bit on the bottom of the knee though since I have lots of experience with 14th century manuscript motifs....

Here's a pic from the post your harness thread. It's pretty much what I am trying to make.

What I am trying to figure out is what is the best/proper way to attach the cop to the greave and upper leg so that the leg harness is all one piece?

I might cut out a little cardboard head box today to double check and make sure it's right. I would feel like an ass if I gave them crappy measurements and my helm came out the wrong size.

Doing some thread necromancy so I can ask a question about construction. I am not sure where exactly the elbows and knees should be attached to the leather so that the limb protection as a whole moves smoothly and doesn't bind or act weird. I hope I'm not asking a dumb question but I don't want to m...

Sounds like maybe she was intimidated in the first place? It's hard to say not being there but getting hit hard is to be expected in combat, and if your weapon gets tangled up it's your own damned fault. Maybe you have a big scary guy rep you didn't even know about.

Our marquee is a great tent, but it has a ton of poles. But, it can take high winds and cruddy weather no problem, and the panther super ground cloth and overlapping bits on the bottom of the walls with the square shape mean it buttons up tight in soggy conditions too. Two people can put it up but i...

Measuring your head for a helm.

I need to take some measurements for the helm I'm ordering but I'm not sure what the best way to do it is. I have to measure the width of my noggin front to back and side to side. Should I stick my head between bookends or something to do this?
