I'm ordering a klapvisor from Knowne World Treasures and it's cheaper than the butted stainless aventail price. :\ I'd snatch it up but I'm not sure how to attach it to the helm for one, and the etiquette of saying I already have an aventail so just the helm. Sooo torn.

No merchant is perfect. Every one of us has disappointed someone in the past, taken too long to complete an order, forgotten about one, made something we weren't 100% happy with, etc. All we can try and do is make good on our mistakes and try not to do it again.

I think the economic difficulties over the last year or two probably made it very difficult for people to attend. My husband and I didn't go lat year even though we're so close, because I was having enough trouble just keeping a roof over our head.

Hey guys. Thanks for the reviews and kind words. This week I didn't get as much done as I would have liked. I came home from a 96 hour shift and moved some furniture and stuff because my work area was occupied by junk. Then I got toned out to a structure fire last night and was out til late. It's be...

If you're wanting to submit it (SCAwise) I would suggest simplifying it a bit. To be honest, it's very busy. It's got 4 different charges in it and 4 colors. My advice would be to think about what you really want to include and leave out the rest. I usually try to get people to choose one or two cha...

SCA heraldry is it's own thing. It's fun to try and obey the rules of period heraldry but it won't always work.

Still, I think that when you register a name and heraldry you are making your mark on the society and it sets you apart from that the casual bikini chainmail/grog the barbarian crowd.

A lot of this discussion seems to me to be far off the stated topic. The question was not "Did women fight?" but "Did women fight in tournaments ?" In the light of that question, it's irrelevant whether Joan of Arc actually fought or if she was purely an inspirational figure; or...

The Society college of heralds is a different beast than say your Kingdom's college of heralds. Generally it is not difficult to get something passed through your kingdom and local heralds are more often than not happy to help you come up with something that looks good and will pass. You can get a l...
