They're double sided. The silk is somewhat translucent and dyed rather than painted and all my banners are made from 10mm china silk. It's lightweight but durable for this particular use.

Room in my silk banner queue

I've got the time to do another order, possibly two for the month if anyone is interested in a 6' or 8' banner. Here's some pictures of previous banners. Prices are still $90 and $120 respectively with free shipping unless they are needed in a hurry. Anyone who's interested can pm me here or email m...

I wear one of those when I'm fencing but I never wore it on the heavy field since it was uncomfortable under my armor.

You guys are pretty much right on the money with the injuries that can be caused by your brain hitting your skull on the inside. There's more than just concussions to worry about too. High velocity impacts can cause blood vessels to stretch and tear, resulting in a hematoma.

We're definitely not asking for what we paid for it. Thanks for the description Laurie. :) I've held a lot of modern reproduction type swords and they just don't compare in feel to this blade.

You can barely buy a basic no frills stainless bucket for $300 to $400 these days, let alone a custom piece of work like that. It's worth twice as much easily. If he really reads the AA, I hope he realizes how much such work is valued by the rest of us and backs down graciously.

Kirby Wise sword for sale

Reluctantly, my husband and I are forced to sell some more of our stuff to keep a roof over our heads. First up is a Kirby Wise sword. Overall length is 44", with a blade length of 34". The scabbard is tooled with knotwork. We're asking for $500 plus shipping. http://www.megapathdsl.net/~a...

For Sale, SCA Sallet & Lute

Due to unemployment and crappy finances, my husband and I have to sell some stuff. First up is my helm. It is I believe, a 12g mild steel Sallet made by AB Hammer. It originally belonged to my mistress, whom I purchased it from for $300. I'd like to get at least $200 for it. It's a great helm and I ...

I've seen a number of other banners made by others here in my kingdom that have been in use for years. They're in very good shape, but the colors are a bit faded from exposure to the elements. The fabric itself holds up pretty well since it is naturally strong and stretch resistant with good tensile...

I use 8mm china silk. It's pretty durable, so as long as you're using it for display and not smacking people with it then it should last for years. I guess it would depend on how you intend to use it though.

Right now due to time constraints I'm only doing the 6' and 8' standards. I am working full time and going to EMT school 3 nights a week, which leaves me right now without a lot of free time. The 6' standard is $90 and the 8' standard is $120, including shipping and design. I have done a number of d...

Banner orders

Just wanted to let everyone know my internet connection is back up so my reply times will be much speedier again.
