I want to upgrade my body armour for possible ACL from SCA fighting and so I am trying to figure out if there is anyone who makes a spring steel coat of plates kit. I am happy to do assembly and would prefer to do it myself but I don't want to do the shaping or hole punching.

There is a medical adhesive remover called Detachol we use in surgery. You can get it from amazon and works better than anything else I've ever used. It's basically just odorless mineral spirits with color and fragrance added.

I have always used the apple barrel type of hobby paints you can get at any Wal-Mart or craft store. They stand up to abuse just fine.

It's 1/8" abs not kydex. There is no manual with it. Talbot has a good manual ob making one but they are not too challenging to put together even for someone who is not an armorer. I can see if I can find a tutorial somewhere.

It is similar. The plates in my kit are able to be cut into a skirt like that one or into hooped faulds, which is more historically accurate. The breastplate is also pre cut in front into two halves.
