It's stainless steel but I don't know all of the gauge information. It was made for SCA combat and it's pretty heavy duty.

It's an excellent helm. I wish I didn't have to sell it. It's very sturdy and well made. The original armorer can make a removable bar grill for a decent price too.

I believe the $50 Hanwei is entirely unsuitable for any kind of combat. It's just for wearing around. I am pretty sure it would break under stress.
