Re: What strength training for female students? (SCA)
I don't believe that she is looking for a workout for herself. We are interested in seeing what guys recommend their female students do, if anything. I believe (and I could be wrong) that you could almost consider her questions to be like a survey and not about anyone in particular.

Just an FYI in the SCA there are youth combat divisions. My daughter is 12 and she is interested in fighting so as soon as I am out of my paramedic program I am going to see about getting her involved.

Re: Leatherworkers I have a question..
I filled my Bohemond boots with water and wore them around for a while with plastic bags on my feet to get them to conform and break them in but I'd hate for you to do the wrong thing. :/ I don't see why the same thing wouldn't work for those boots though.

KWT is a reputable armorer. I ordered my custom helmet from there and I can't say anything bad about my transaction.

Re: Leatherworkers I have a question..
They look like Bohemond boots. If they are, follow the instructions that came with them. I filled mine with water in the bathtub then wore them around the house. Repeatedly. Until they fit right.

If I could afford to I would probably put together 3 or 4 more kits just because. But I really want to get my 14th c kit dialed in for Deeds and things first.

I'm waiting for a pair of the 3 buckle low boots Zippy. They aren't exactly the same but fairly similar. I can get pics for you when I get them.

Re: What strength training for female students? (SCA)
We can have an honest discussion about physiological differences between individuals and gender without it being belittling. I honestly believe that conversation is not in and of itself demeaning or offensive. I can just say from personal experience that strength training helped me be able to do the...

Re: What strength training for female students? (SCA)
Being a total noob, I feel like the best thing I ever did for myself was start lifting weights. It changed the way I fight in every way. I am not even a small gal and it helped me immensely. I think anyone who is training a woman to fight should help train her to grow stronger physically, or point h...

Mine was custom made for me. I did not buy off the shelf. If you buy an in stock helm then yes it will be fit for an average person. If you are convinced that an off the shelf helm isn't going to fit then shop around for getting one made to your measurements. I would just start emailing trustworthy ...

My bascinet was custom made and fits like a glove. It is closed face and it matches up very well with my noggin so I can see just right. I am a lady with a small head. If you haven't been over there yet, check out the Girl's Club if you need more ideas. I was cutting and pasting everything over to the new forum and hadn't quite realized how much useful info is really there on armoring women and how much variation there really is to all of our kits.

Firehose makes an awesome pell. I have a hanging one stuffed with old clothes but one of the local guys also has a pole wrapped with the stuff. I think it's easier to be careful when you are not always in the weeds. But I think anyone running a small shop is often on the edge of being behind, or always behind. I know I am almost always behind. I have been in the deep end of the rough patch plenty of times because my business has helped me k...

I think you would just see the same thing that you would when someone posts a bad review of a merchant. It almost always ends up devolving into a huge argument, with people taking sides and trashing each other. Particularly if the person you are posting a bad review of is someone that a lot of peopl...

With regards to Toraldr, he has always upheld his deals. With regards to Sasha, he speaks the truth. With regards to Skafnir, he is either new to the Archive (look at his number of posts) or is someone with a second login. Either way, not exactly helping his own reputation. Wild accusations don't h...

I have been stiffed on trades and paid orders a few times but I feel like publicly trashing people is pointless and a bit rude. I just consider it the cost of doing business now. I've been on the other side of the fence too, where I know I did not do as well for a customer as I should have either in...

Nobody mentions the times where an armorer is screwed by the customer, finishing product in good faith that never gets paid for, that they are now stuck trying to get rid of. I have done business with Torvaldr, and while our transaction took a while, I got what we traded for and he always communicat...

I think as soon as one or two people in a group buy them, it doesn't take long for everyone else to want one too. It's a lot easier to get them for a decent price now too.
