I notice that there are several manufacturers of them. Some run on button batteries (CR2023) and others that run on AAA or AA batteries. The most numerous review/complaints I've seen for the less expensive ones are that they are deceptively smaller then they imagined. Evidently there are some that ...

ooops, sorry I thought you camped in Small Grey Bear. Which is Literally nextdoor to Calontir. No problem, I can look you up. Or if you end up around Trimaris/Calontir way just stop in and ask for Aiden. Just went and picked up 2 of the lanterns for ya. Got another one and a candle for myself. Seey...

Sorry for more questions. How would these do for a candle lantern to walk around with? I use a regular candle and while the light output is good enough to not trip over stuff, its easy to burn my hand it I am not careful. I am hoping something like this could work. I tried this very thing around th...

...is kinda what I'm looking for. But, I don't really want it to button up the front at all. I want it left "open" and maybe trimmed in fur.
Basically, a cloak, but with sleeves, kinda... Dunno if I'm making much sense.

Looking for Pattern: Norse / Rus Coat
I'm looking for a pattern, or perhaps even someone who makes, a coat that would possibly fit a Norse, Icelandic, Sweedish, etc...or even Rus...personna from circa 1000 (give or take). Basically, Something knee length, long sleeved, and made from wool. My google-fu is failing me. Is / was there anyth...

Yeah, just the lanterns. No need for the candles. Camping? If I have my way, you could just hang them over the back wall of your camp and I could grab them. I'll be camped in Calontir. Hmmmm...that's a big encampment. I think I'll be easier to find. Go to the Gulf Wars site, and pull up the .PDF ma...

Well, the flickering LED doesn't use a lot of power.
I've a set of these on my headboard of the bed:

...I've had them almost 3 years, and use them all the time. I have never replaced the batteries yet.
SO...yeah...they last a LONG time...

I picked up both the Lanterns as well as the candles at Garden Ridge. Dunno if they are a chain with places available elsewhere or not. The lanterns were $8 each, and the candles $5 each. The two of them together put off enough light to read by, easily. I dare say they are just as bright, if not a s...

Using the Fake, Battery Powered "Candles" for SCA
I recently picked up two cool little lanterns for my tent for SCA camping. While I like "real" candles, they can be a tiny bit dangerous, and you really shouldn't leave them burning if you aren't in your tent. However, I like having candlelight in my tent at night. Just adds to the ambianc...

I'll be there sometime Tuesday night, but have to leave either Saturday evening, or VERY early Sunday morning. I have to be at work Sunday night at 9pm (ET). *sigh* Hate having to leave a day early. If I am able to fight in 2 weeks, this is what my armour currently still (mostly) looks like: [img]ht...
