Asbrand, I am assuming you want an XL mild flat riveted hauberk? If so, I will go $595 with the stimulus sale I am running. How does that sound? Ice Sounds good. Is that the same for the blackened one? Not a fan of shiny metal. Also...how much is shipping on those....? I know they aren't lightweight.

Asbrand, the flat ring riveted I linked to is the same shirt I've been fighting in for several years. Being that (flat ring and riveted) makes it stronger than 14ga butted, at half the weight. Ah...makes sense. Doesn't appear that the link you gave offers the mid-thigh length hauberk though. (the o...

I bought a used 14ga spangen (rivited) back when I first got in the SCA (circa '85 or so) for a whopping $25. Guy was getting out of fighting and was a poor college student...so I got a great deal. It is VERY well made, just ugly as sin. I've fought in that helm for 25+ years now. Still do. I got lu...

Re: maille
Hi Az, I bought blackened butted mail from IceFalcon with the thought of putting it under my lamellar but have decided not too. Will you be at Castle Wars? If so, I will toss it in the van when I head down and you can look at it. I am really not sure what gage it is, but it is pretty hefty. Gunnar ...

Friend of mine (long time ago) took a haft of a polearm to the chest so hard, it knocked him back about 10 feet and down on his arse. He called it good. Guy who did it apologized (it was an accident) and said it was the haft...he didn't have to take it. Friend said he didn't care...it was good enoug...

All I found there was 16 gauge. I'm looking for 14 gauge.

Looking for: 14ga Chain Hauberk
My SCA personna is 10th century norse. I'm in the process of making a leather lamellar body armour, and would like to have a 14ga chain hauberk to put on under it, just to make it look better, etc. It will be a while before I can even think of ordering something like this...but I'd like to get an id...

Need Lamellar Pattern...
I am going to be making a new set of body armour for myself this winter (I hope). While I like Lamellar, I don't particularly like the metal ones. So, I'm going to be making them out of leather. However, I'm looking for a pattern. Or, better yet, a single metal lamellar piece that I can use to trace...

Logan, I am sorry I didn't get to do more than briefly speak to you on my way back to my cabin with my daughter. I had no idea you would be leaving site so early. If someone can't seem to figure out why they can't do well against an opponent, studying an opponent's moves on video in much the way you described above is, well, bypassing the learning curve. I am curious... Exactly how is this any different than them sitting on the sidelines, watching you fight ...

Maybe where you are. I can guarantee that here you would have pretty much the exact same people from the third round up as with shields. Here they win because they are good, not because they have shields. It would be a hell of a tourney to watch though. Oh, don't get me wrong...there are plenty tha...
