I like a 3/4 or full circle cloak. I make mine so it can also be worn since that is essentially what you would have been using. You want it heavy enough to be effective as a parry device. I don't advise using it to swish back and forth like a pendulam. Wrap it about your hand to get a good grip and ...

OK. Having seen this up close and personal: Damn it's light! Like, feather light. And yet very sturdy. As we talked on Sunday a tube of linen sew around would make puttting on and off easier. We use tea lights. You can remove them from the tin cup they come in. We have them in glass votive cups with in glass paneled lanterns. Tea lights last about 8 hours. If a lantern were to fall and shatter there would be a bigger issue with broken glass than a fire. We usually don't have the lantern ...

Tape a wide strip of file folder paper to the bottom edge of the helm. With masking tape, attach the aventail to the paper strip. Trace the line where the aventail attaches to the paper.. This is now the bottom edge of your leather. Remove the aventail from the paper and the paper from the helm. Fro...

Short of that you could always portray a wounded vet and wear a bandage around your eyes. I'd wear the sunglasses if the sunscreen doesn't work for you.

Or, perhaps even harder to answer - what's the difference between a coat and a jacket? Modernly, a coat and a jacket cover the same area, however a coat is padded where as a jacket is not. Usually the coat is bulkier and the jacket is closer to the body. That's not to say that people will use those...
