A private email caused me to go back and re-check my numbers. I may have quoted ultimate strength when I meant to be quoting yield strength. The difference between cold-rolled mild and 304 Stainless may not be as high as I originally anticipated. That's why I hate posting without having time to dou...

There is one for Rapier ( which has 20 ga for HR and 22 for Stnls)but I see none for Armoured.

I hadn't thought of linen look fabrics. They are relativly inexpensive, launder well and come in a variety of colors. One of my wifes first dresses and still one of her favorites is of linen-look fabric.

A real cheap source for hammers are those antique/collctable/junks shops. Usually in the basement level of those shops you will find old tools. Don't worry about how old they look. The steel in these older hammers is often times of better quality than the cheap new stuff in stores. Make sure the han...

That is a leather Demi greave. It is cut from the original cuisse. After I dyed the first pair of cuisses I found that I didn't like the color. Not wanting to waste any leather I used one to cut both scalloped demi greaves. Over time, and repeated applications of wax, I think the saddle tan leather ...

5 ft diameter would give you 17 ft of material. How wide id the bar?

A piece of HR steel 1/4 x 2 x 17 ft would wiegh in at 29 lbs.

1/4 x 3 x 17 = 43.35 lbs.

Wear as much as your physical health will permit.
If you are and in very good shape and your endurance is good you can wear more.

If, like me , you are old and broken in places you may not be able to carry the extra weight.

I would love to carry a full harness.

Mine is a cross between what you do and HE 15th c arming doublet. It laces from the waist down.
It only comes past the hip bone and the legs point to the bottom of the coat.

Ooohh!
Tricky question.
I believe there is documentation for lacing in the 15th century. I think the problem for the 14th century is lack of documentation for what an arming garment would have looked like.
