That is what funny about fencers: We'll pay $300 and up for a sword but look for something cheap to put in front of our face.

not in the sca but many of the cheaper and thinner helms out there may be perfect for this kind of thing with some modification. I have been look at getting a burgonet with a perforated face plate for quite a while now. Something like this or a close helm would be fine. Or Im sure theres a way you ...

sca Cut and Thrust fencing mask ?

The new SCA Cut and Thrust rapier rules call for rigid protection for the back of the head. Also, I have heard concern about the viability of standard fencing masks for C&T.

What do you think about the white edging seen on a lot of these- topstitching, trim or the artist highlighting an edge? Thanks Klaus,

A system. I hadn't thought of it but that is exactly what it is!
I was afraid that hanging the armour would be a drag on the garment. It really doesn't feel that way.
have to see how it all holds up in combat.

Pattern! The body is adapted from a Period Pattern #23 cotehardie patern. The arms are draped to the body. Tasha has instructions on how to fit the lower arm. My Arming Coat is finished!

Here it is.
Comments / Criticisms welcome.

Details:
3 layers of linen
mostly machine sewn hand finished seams (there are a lot of seams)
hand finished points eyelets.
It just covers my hip joint.
It fits me better than my duct tape doppelganger.

Regarding guy ropes and Pennsic. As long as ropes don't touch they can cross. You must have 3 feet between canvas. We use that as part of our guy rope overlap.
