I find it odd that North shield and the middle would want to know how many "authorized" fencers Calontir has. Wouldn't they simply be able to look up their authorizations and find out?
So no one thinks that Northshield and the Middle have some secret agenda in regards t...

Judy linen has been mentioned on another list as a suitable for rapier armor. I sked on the R & A forum because I thought that folks in the know, like Charlotte and Tasha, would see it here. Sewing Central lists their linen with names like this. I'm wondering if this is some distributors name or a r...

As I posted elsewhere on the board today: I ordered a pair of spaulders, 3 lame elbows and 5 lame knees on Sunday and received the items by USPS Thurseday. They are munition grade with a nice brush finish. The elbow and knees seam to articulate well. The prices are very good and his web site is easy...

I'm agree with Irish. Now if you had provides detail deminsions and called out for specific existing rivet head type you would have a better argument. But simple giving a sketch of an imaginary item that may or may not even fit a real human is expecting too much. I suspect that if the belt arch and ...

Gwydion, I've not seen an issue of Medieval History magazine in forever. Is Brian giving the impression that he is the publisher? If so that would be amusing, but erroneous, as Medieval History is a joint publication of the Royal Armouries and Harnois; Chivalry Bookshelf merely handles US distribut...

I wear a helm faced with perf plate for rapier fighting. I find it no more difficult to see out of than a standard fencing mask. I wear glasses and with them on my vision is fine but if I try to go without the glasses my nearsightedness makes seeing past the perf plate very difficult. If you have 20...

NO! NO! hot role is not softer, it tends to be harder, but less pure. Most hot role is recyled and often gets some higher carbon steel in the mix plus some trash effects after cleaning the scale off (pits, vane looking marks, ect). I would use simple muratic acid, the same acid as what you use to c...

I think they are a damn nice shoe and worth the price. Good value for those of us for whom "I'll just make 'em myself." is not a practical option.
