hey guys, here in Calontir we have an event every year, held in Fayetteville Arkansas called "Blood of heros Yep, it's no coincidence. I attended one year and had a great time. However, I thought that the name of the game was "Blood of Heros", not the event. The guys here ended up calling the event...

Yep, that was a very good day. Much fun was had by all. The second annual Blood of Heros was also quite successful, but very, very hot. We ahve since decided to hold it at a cooler time of the year.

Lance, you are going to have to come over and play with us someday.

A very small rule change can have very interesting effects on peoples views of plastic armour. Over here, our basic rules are very similar to those of the SCAs; however, plastic, with a a very few notable exceptions, is simply considered to be "not there". In terms of game play, this is handled very...

This was a problem that caused me no end of headache. Avalon consists largely of very small people who all want to fight with guantlets; basket hilts have all but disappeared. However, I needed a reliable, inexpensive source of guants. My solution came in the form of Ashcraft Baker (m). Now, I'm not...

My buddy has this exact helm. The answer is no, and there would be no room in there for one even if you wanted it. You pad out the whole helm and then use a strap to keep it closed. If it fits correctly, it cannot come off. He has used his helm safely for about 5 years.

Or, in the vulgate: Don't be a weasel. :)

Actually, there is a very simple and realistic solution to this, which we use in some tournaments: a double kill is exactly that, a mutual loss, and neither of the two fighters advance in the tournament.

For legs, a nice middle ground we have found is the standing legs wounds rule. Get hit on the leg, and you plant that foot. Another hit to either leg is considered disabling and you are considered vanquished. We've greatly enjoyed how this has chnaged the flow of the fight.

Would you enter a tournament where you can be hit anywhere, but you can only kill your opponent with a thrust to the arm pit? Of course I would. Of course, it has been pointed out that perhaps I'm not the brightest guy to ever put on a helm... and that is saying something. The thing is, if you have...
