Here are a few things I have been working on.Everything is 16g brass
These are elbow cops that I raised.Trying to figure out raising and thought this would be a good project for it.

It looks like you could clean up the outlines a bit, though it's hard to tell without detailed photos. Are you chiseling them? If so, I'd recommend many light, overlapping blows. This will give you more control and allow you to get the lines clean and with uniform depth. As you get a better feel for it, you can hit harder to speed things up, but it's best to start slow.

Derian,Yes I used a chisel to do the outlines.It is really small(about 1/4 in and rounded.Like I said I am new to the sculpting.Thanks for the helpful hints.wll try on the next attempt.I would love to hear more sculpting tips and tricks

Well done! What soft material did you push the metal into? Pitch, wood lead?

I used wood fo most of it.the raised lines on the chest piece i did over the edge of my anvil

I've used pitch quite successfully but I'm always interested what others use. Thanks for sharing this.

Those are Tuchux symbols? Nifty.

Nice work. The lines look preety smooth. I have not tried working brass, I would guess it is softer than steel and easyer to move, but the way it shines up shows you did a good job of cleaning up the serfice to remove workmarks.

Looks nice..... I like the hammer marks on the elbows...

Bras is kinda heavy though... What do they weigh?

the brass works like butter compaired to 16g steel,right up to the point that it work hardens,then it works like mild IMO.

the oval chest piece is the customers personal symbol.
The rectangled one is the tychux symbol.

for 16g brass they are not to heavy,the entire arm probally weighs about a pound.but I did not have any kind of scale to weigh it.

so, if work hardened, brass is comparible to mild steel? in hardness i mean? so you could expect 16 ga brass to do a good job for say, the nuckles in a gauntlet?
