First leather carving

Post by kaiö »

Went to Tandy's, the usual bitch wasn't there so I had a talk with the owner. Bought a book and some tools, this is what came of it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Only problem is that the dye job wasn't great, can't figure out whether it's the 50 cent paintbrushes or what...
It's the front flap of my gorget, gonna soak it now for later hardening.

excellent effort, thanks for trying.

Yeah, Tandy's always has at least one bitch. She thinks she knows everything, and lies to you about stuff. Thats why i go to Landwerlins in Indy. they have everything tandy does with better prices (on leather not tools), except they have no sales. but it is worth it.

I think your dye job is probably going to need repeating if you soak it now.

In future, wet the leather first then dye it. Doesn't need to be soaking wet but the dye will absorb better and more evenly when the leather is cased.

Asshattery does not discriminate based on gender I've noticed.
