Congratulations to the newly elected Guildmaster.
Kenwrec Wulfe.
After Talbot's class / discussion on the evolution of armor in the 40 years of the Midrealm XL event Kenwrec won by a majority vote.

So, when's the next edition of the Hammer coming out?
Just kidding. That was a huge effort on Brian's part. I don't think many people understand how much he gave to the early SCA armour community putting out the Hammer. It was the core of the old Armourer's Guild. The meetings were fun too. I only got to a few, but it was nice to be able to get together with people who really shared the interest.
Open shop weekends (which you do, just a shame it is so far away) are a good start. Keep it up. A lot can happen when you get people together.

Indeed, congrats Kenwrec, I'm glad things are getting going again.
On a side note, the armourers gathering at Midrealm 40th Year was a complete blast! Talbot did a wonderful presentation on the evolution of SCA armouring, focusing on the early Chicago group. What was particularly great was getting to see Albert von Drachenveldt, Franz von Blinkenlichten, Merowald de Sylvaestan and many others....these excellent fellows were Wades and my inspirations, when we joined the SCA as teenagers. Some cool and some very scary pieces of ancient SCA armour were displayed.
Great fun.

Seems like everyone came out of the woodwork. I should have forced myself to find a way to get there.
Just for fun, is there any such thing as an attendee list so I can kick myself more for all of the people I didn't get to see?
And more pictures please - or a link to someone's page where they are all posted.
I am mixing two threads up.
Yes, web-based is the way to go now days. Anyone can print their own if they really want paper.
Some of the old articles could be a real hoot. Updates would definitely be necessary. I assume Brian still really owns rights to that stuff (he wrote a lot of it). Hmm... what might it take to get rights to the content and name.

There were more than a few cameras going but, alas, mine was being used to memorialize my 5yo son's yellow belt ceremony in California

As Mark explained to me, the rights are confered with the guildmaster title. I am able to reprint "The Hammer" articles should I wish, so I am thinking I will tap Dr Strong and scan copies, PDF them and at least start there.

Both are my apprentices. I was so proud!
That day was such a blast! It was great to see so many of the founders and original members of the Midrealm Armourer's guild there. Those Freon can helmets were beautiful! We had many pieces of armour there dating back nearly 40 years including complete sets worn at Pennsics 3 and 4.
I think there is a paper in that event somewhere.
