Question about patterns
Question about patterns
I just bought a book "Medieval Armor reproduction in the 15th century" or something to that effect by Brian Price, and the book mentions not to start armoring until you've made a couple of patterns, and are familiar with the process. He also mentions to use manila folders, and shape those to get the general idea before you actually make the armor. Now, I was going to do this, but then I realized that the armourarchive website has patterns already on it. Now, would it be better for me to use the patterns already on the website, or easier to make my own patterns? Those elbows seem pretty daunting. print the patterns from the archive and modify them to fit you. after you feel confident that you are getting the right measurements start making patterns for spauders or or agreat helm.
