first buckler.(with pictures)

Post by Thomas H »

finally finished my first buckler. it took me about 5 hours of working time. the roll was flattened accidently on one art so i thought i would do the whole thing. i started with 18g and ended up welding the crack in the centre. will post pics in about 20 mins. have to take them and upload them first.

I would say, it could use some more fine planishing and some sanding.

What type of planishing mushroom are you using.

Be sure there are no sharp edges on the handle inside.

Welcome to the world of armouring.

Best of luck on your quest.

Hal.

that i how my friend wanted it. he wanted it to be medieval ad battle ready looking. rolled edges on the handle. i am using a typical 4" diameter ball stake on a bit of pipe. it is my first bit of planishing.
