Stanislav,

  and

I really liked the helm and that was a real inspiration, this is just going to make me crazy as you post the progress photos. Nice lines, Will there be a back to go with it, or just the breast?

cheers!

Nice work Stanislav!

What was the method for the black areas did you go for paint or is it burnt?

Pitbull, maybe you'd share the info?!

Hi guys,

here is the proces Stanislav used. I do use it for some time with I believe good results

Mac calls this blackening frying pan black and you will see why It is just the thin layer of linseed oil gently and carefully heated by weed burner untill it gets black. Forged finish is very recommanded before treatment as it gives a better durability to the layer. Recently there was a thread about blackening and Mac mentioned he thinks most of the kits were just forged and paitnted with linseed oil based paint. At least a good number definitelly were. I do this as a repair, when my frying pan armour gets some abuse.

cheers

Jiri

With just a little modification to the leaves, it would read that way very easily.

That would be so awesome in its irony O:

Also, that is a seriously fantastic breastplate.

That one makes me weak in the knees. I'm a sucker for B&W, and that one just rocks.

Love. It.

I said you need the weed burner for work like this, but it was not meants THAT weed actually :-) but with this kind of leaf... any weed burner Is THAT weed burner :-) We enjoyed the design in the shop, when Stanislav was making it...

Rofl Jiri, that is funny. Hey I got some linseed oil and it works great, one question , Do you put the heat on the oiled side of the armor or the backside?

Thank you
