Does acrylic floor wax harden *only* veg-tan leather?

Post by Tibbie Croser »

Does the acrylic floor wax (for hardening) work only on veg-tanned leather, or will it work on chrome-tanned leather too?

It should work on chrometanned. Our emphasis on vege-tanned has a lot to do with those other processes prepared and passed through before we paint the piece with polyethylene. O the illiterate alliteration... But chrometanned should absorb the floor finish just fine.

I would sugest picking up a small sample to experiment with...
The thinner hides work well for all sorts of applicaitons but for ridged armour its not the best option.

Makes for a great CoP or brigindine foundation though.
