Where'd you get it? Did they have more? If so, next time I drive up, I know what I'm getting...

they have a pallet full of them at the hf store. Not sure how long they will be on sale (normal price is $50 some odd) Still, you might email aaron and see if you can send him $25 to pick one up for you while there here. I have one of there cast iron anvils at home. Its great for, well, peaning rivets is really all its great for. The steel anvil seems to be quite a bit more durable.

I suppose it would be rude to drool? Nice score on the steel anvil.

I have a cast iron anvil too- and yes, it is good for peening rivets. Makes a good paper weight too.

I have one of these... Unfortunately, they aren't much harder than the cast iron ones. The face dings and so on really easy. An armorer friend of my suggested getting a 1/2" piece of good tool steel welded to the face and then harden that.
