Mirror Finish?
I was just wondering what you guys do to put a mirror finish on your armor. I just refinished an old set of knees and elbows that turned out pretty good. Sanded to 2000 grit, then used some rubbing compound on a terry cloth and they are shinin pretty good, but not quite mirror. Should I use superfine steel wool or emery paper before I hand rub them out next time?

To get the finest shine on cars most auto body pros use that brown paper, that people claim is a cheap paper towel...
I use it on most of my stuff, and that really gives it that extra touch... I used to have the same problem. One way I found to keep it from losing that fine mirror is I use gun oil and rub it in with a lint free cloth. Though I don't usually take that kind of care with the stuff that I wear into combat, just the things I make to look pretty on my shelves...
