I've commissioned a set of bazubands from Jolly Knight. He sent me progress pics and I'm anxiously waiting for them to arrive. I'll post a proper review when they get here.
Now on with the armour pRon.
Stainless steel with brass trim and stainless maille hinges.
I'm impatient so I thought I would share. (Bazubands)

Are they for SCA use? If so, I would be a tad concerned that they won't cover the sides enough.
They are for SCA they are deeper than they appear in the photo's from other pics I have seen. Him and I discussed this very issue, they should be ok for combat but I won't know for sure until they get here. I've thought of some idea's around this problem if it presents itself though.

Sounds good!
I didn't mean to piss on your cheerios... they really are very lovely. I was just concerned. But seeing as you've addressed that issue, I'm sure it will be just fine.

Jestyr.....not problem at all. Good looking out though.
As far as what time period......I've seen very similar ones latter half of the 15th cent and on through even 1700's in Mughal armour.
I've got some work of my own to do for my new kit. I need to split the front of my blackened maille shirt and add buckles to it. Eventually I will have a full maille and plates kit but I will have to go with hidden body protection and hidden legs for now. I do have a nice helm coming from Jackie at Shamrock.
My goal is to look like a complete badass by Lilies War. Key word is LOOK if only I could purchase athletic ability and skill......I would be a badass by Lilies. haha
