As the title suggests I am looking for images of Milanese gauntlets that use that clam/finger combo; I am more interested in the finger scale construction than anything else.
Thanks

I'm not sure I'm clear on precisely what you're looking for. Is it something like these?

It appears to me that the pair depicted here is a large finger-lame (clams?) over scale/"brigandine-work" fingers.
What about this?

They're known as paddle gauntlets.
Matt Black makes a really nice pair, though he's having some troubles right now so may not reply to emails for a while. At the very least, take a look at the images on his website:

That is the idea, the kind with the outer lames vs the covered lames like the earlier Churburg pair.
I think there is an extent pair from mid 15th century and was hoping for some photos of that pair.

Is there really a need to invent a brand new term for a period gauntlet style?

As far as I'm aware, it's not a new term, no newer than mitten or finger gauntlets.

Jeffrey the Younger has made at least one pair. A pic of them can be found on his website - wassonartistry.com in the armour/gauntlets section.
I'm sure he'd be happy to answer any questions you might have re: the finger construction.

Paddle gauntlets is a totally random term. Why not mitten?
If you'd have said paddple gauntlets to me without a pic, i'd have been a bit stumped!

Not entirely sure where the term comes from, Though Colin Middleton of KIBS uses it. I may well shoot him a PM on the LH forums and ask.

Rene of Anjous Tournament book
Specifically the gauntlet sketches.
Can't go for the "paddle gauntlets", I don't believe it appears in any of the old texts (when there were umpteen different names for mail for example).

Yeah, sorry bad link.
Goto
This link and follow the instructions.
Eventually, you'll find a picture of three gauntlets drawn for Rene's tournament manuscript!
