A question about droopy knee cops

I saw this picture in a thread in Medieval Combat and Weapons.
Notice how his knee cop does not cover his knee. I continuously have this problem with my own knee cops mounted to my gamboised cuisses.
I have come to the conclusion to try simply pointing the top center of the cop to the cuisse. But I do not know of any evidence to support this being done in period.
What gives?

I would suspect pointing to the cops to the hose and then pointing the hose to the dublet may do the trick.
It's hard to tell whats going on with your support garments.

That was my solution as well, to point the top center of the cop to the cuisse. I haven't seen any evidence for it either unfortunately, but to be honest I've not been too concerned about it as I really think it has more to do with our safety conventions than period armour issues.

My knee is drooping because I dressed for a photo shoot for a friend and did not have my legs pointed, they are just pulled on.
If your cuisses fit correctly and your knees are pointed in the proper place they will not droop.
Yes thats a "novelty" fist, it is part of a long running inside joke

I tried pointing my cops near the sides of the cop but it is not optimal. I, too, think pointing center-top is the way to go. I wish there was a way to document how they did it.

Mine are hung at the balance point of the cop with a rivet on either side.
I have been fighting in gamboised cuisses for about 8 years, I do not have any issues with my knees staying where I want them.
