full cased greave question

Is there any evidence of a cased greave that is metal for
the front half and formed leather for the back half?
Is cased the right term? ( full wrap greave)

None that I know of, and cased greaves is the consensus term. I don't know exactly where it comes from. Early-mid-fourteenth all-leather greaves, laced up the inside/medial seam, I believe there is precedent for.
If it's metal you want, I think it's about time you dare something worthy upon a couple shapeless masses then, don't you? Shotbag, 18 gauge, and polymer-egg bumping hammers are likely your friends among the bag of tools.
The hinges will be rather a nuisance the first time. To get the frackin' hinges to line up well enough to swing, use a straight rod between and through the hinge barrels. Do tweakage until they conform to your will, and fit only two per greave. Hinges on the distal side, fasteners medial.
