Hi there, I just got done with my first Peascod attempt. Its basicly my globose pattern with different shaping, fauld, and a center crease. I need to study the shape of these more.

This is my second attempt at a later gorget, I worked a few more bugs out and added a few details. Next one will have thinner neck lames.

Nice work. Very clean.

A true peascod, however, would have a more pronounced point. I have some great pictures of one that I got to handle at the Wallace Collection back in 2000. I'll e-mail you the pics when I get home later.

When in doubt - claim a slightly different target. It is more like earlier 16th c. breastplates than it is liek a true peascod. Closer to this one:

Look closely. Details that matter are subtle.

Ingleri thank you for the good words and for sending me all those pics I really apreciate it.

Halberds thank you, I dont have a shallow dish, I use an oxy tank dish to rough them out, and then a shot bag to even them up, then the face of the anvil with a plastic round faced hammer for final shaping, Then normal planishing over a large ball stake, then I run it through the air planisher.
