Dunno what it is. I liked it a lot more in the design phase. Maybe too overboard on the fluting? Will be adding fauld/tassets/backplate. Or It might go sit in the pile. It really looked good on paper, just not grabbing me.

I think it looks pretty good, but if I was going to point out anything... I don't think it's over fluted, I think it's the extra lame/placard/whatever it's called in the middle. The piece on the top and the piece on the bottom are enough I think.

Yeah, that def looks like a two piece with an extra bp part in the middel...

I have to agree, the breastplate looks good, but odd with that extra plackart.
And one can never have too much fluting on a breastplate! Well, you can but you didn't go overboard, I think you gave it just the right amount.

That must be it then. Was going to joust in it and wanted to thicken the center mass as much as I could without losing the shape. Figured the extra placard piece with the overlap would do it nicely. It did in that the BP is certainly a tank, but the look is hurting my eyes a bit.

I think the main problem with the center piece is that it doesn't have a flute, so it doesn't match.

Otherwise, I think it looks fine.

There's nothing at all wrong with the extra plackart in there. There are plenty of surviving breastplates with them. What makes it look a bit "off" is that the bulbous projections at the apex of each are a bit too big.

I'd say the spade at the top of each plackard looks huge, and the lack of fluting on the center plackard makes it stand out as odd.

I like the finish, and the fluting looks great.

try to form the "points" in the middle. You´ve flutes the whole piece and then there´s just plain metal around the two rivets. If this area would match the rest, the whole piece would certainly look more consistent and pleasing!

just try to flute along the borderline of each point.

It's great, you're just not finished trimming your pieces yet.

Or you could do what I did, and turn them into fleurs de lys.

If the bottom " spade" was cut of and just came to a simple point, I think it would look less cluttered and great! Heck, it looks pretty good as is, no scrap pile for this piece!

I like Destichado's idea! that would def make it look a ton better!

I actually think some file and punchwork on the spades would go a long way to fixing the flat munitions look.

I agree with this. I'd trim off the bottom spade, trim down the top spade and then take a couple files to it.

Also, one thing that kind of stood out when I first looked at the pic was the "straps" coming up to the shoulder. They look rather disproportionately elongated to me. I would definitely trim a couple inches off of them.
