Hello,
I finished this messer now.
The messer is made from spring steel. Hardening 52-55HRc
width of blade - 4.0cm
length of blade - 60cm
length od handle - 20cm
length of cross quard - 20cm
balance point - 2.0cm from cross quard
weight 1008g
The messer is for second half 15.Th century and it is made according to combination original messers and the cross quard is made according to original cross quard from long sword.

Here are the original nail, blade ,pommel and cross quard - it was my inspiration .

Very nice. The nail and crossguard aren't off of the same messer are they? I don't see how they can be since that crossguard has side rings (Obrázek8 and 6).

how is the nail mounted? I always assumed it was made in 1 piece with the guard, but your originals look like it's a separate piece from the guard.
aside from that i will have one of your messers one day, i covet every one I've seen so far.

Hello,
my construction is as original.My cross quard and shell is not 1 piece . The cross quard is simple and the shell is simple too. the shell is riveted to cross quard.
