removing rust

Post by Heath B fraychef »

so i recently pulled out my blued pauldrons and noticed there is a bit of surface rust on them.
does anyone know of a good way to remove the rust without damaging the blueing?

Try a wipe with oil and a paper towel. If that doesn't do it, wipe on oil and use a green scrubbie. It is less aggressive than the brown rust-remover scrubbie, which would take blueing off.

You still may need to touch your blueing up afterwards with cold-blue.

If it's not too much rust, try "Rust Erasers".
