Mad Matt COP instruction question

I sent him the money last night, got the file back already this morning! Looks great, nice, detailed directions that even a duffer like me can follow.

I am confused by one thing, though-

When I printed out the patterns, I notice that there are measurements shown. On the Back top plates, for example, they are marked as being 8 3/4" from top to bottom. My printouts, though, measure more like 7 5/16". The other measurements are all off similarly.

Should I be adding the length on to the bottom edge, or do I need to enlarge them on my printer to make the measurements match?

Thanks for posting the question. Can you share what was going on? Be good to know in case someone has the same confusion.

I'm guessing it might have been a print setting but not sure.

The measurements that are on there are partially to allow people to make sure you have printed it basically the right size.

If you or anyone else has any more questions please post them here so I can give answers and update the instruction set.

Couple minor things-

First, I had my print settings set to "fit to page". I noticed that it was only printing at 92%. Once I changed to to print original size, it got better, but was still a little small. I enlarged it to 105% and most of the measurements came out right (one was off by 1/4", but close enough)

I did have the center back plate get the edge of the pattern cut off a hair, but not enough to matter. It still showed the whole pattern out to the 52-54" lines, but the next line out got cut off (not a problem for me, since I was using the 52-54 size anyways). I could have fixed that by moving the left margin a tad.

Really great instructions/patterns! I used a plastic barrel, and the top was rounded some, so I cut the top front and back pieces out of that area, and I don't even have to do any shaping! I literally had all the pieces cut in about an hour. Drilling was another 1/2 hour, and all I have left to do is make the shell and start riveting the pieces on.

Thanks again!

Please post pics when you're done I want to see how it works out from barrel plastic.
