No evidence for leather armour from this region and time period. Would be more suitable for Asia, Russia, or Eastern Europe.

What Dan said, unfortunately.
You're not all that far away; depending on the scales I might swap you some straight leather I've got about so you could make a cuirie -- it could be worn under a tunic as part of a hidden armor rig. I don't have *much* of a use for it right now, but it could make a gift when I go back to Hungary and maybe recoup your effort.

No evidence for leather lamellar except for Asia, Russia and Eastern Europe. There was a single example found at Dura Europos that could have been Roman or Sasanian

I'll have to check, to be honest -- it's been awaiting a project, but I've not looked at it for some time.

Eh... it's a side, and some of the leather's thick, but I apparently took 2-3 s.f. out of the butt for some project. Whether there's enough for a hardened cuirie for under your gear would depend on your girth. If you're built like I am, there's enough, but if you're a big boy, it might not do the job.

Eh, the belly bits are probably down around 8... you know how hides aren't consistent. The thickest stuff's gone (that was the butt) for the most part. But certainly still thick enough for armoring, especially if you water-harden.
Like I said, I don't really have a use for the scales at the moment, but neither am I using the vegtan right this minute, so if you turn it down, I won't be heartbroken.

yea I think ill just hang onto them .. Ill probably end up making a loaner body out of it. nothing gets ppl out of loaner gear faster than the smell..
