so i was looking through some pics of my kit recently and comparing the overall look between the old helm and the new helm.
i think it made an incredible overall difference.
i like the look much better.
not that their was anything wrong with the old helm it was just wrong for the kit.
this has been a long evoloutionary process but i think i like where i am now.

well the red shoes, the rondells on the elbows, the cuisses the helmet, the gauntlets are changed just not pictured.
and i know you cant see them but the tunic and pants from adric13.
lots of small changes.

Not to mention the increased visibility and airflow, and a nifty sunshade for your eyes.

What kind of material did you use for you CoP?

well the people who made it used wool outside and linnen for the lining, mild plates which means i have to make sure it dries out really well after i fight, and the decorations are silk.
and yes the visibility and air flow are much improved. i never really had a problem with either in the old helm but its a nice change.
it also comes off much easier, no need for a chinstrap.
no buckling or tieing.

Looks way better Heath. Your old helm always looked too big on your body to me.

I thought your kit was great before, and I enjoyed meeting you at Potrero last year and seeing it in person, but your kit REALLY looks amazing now! Inspiring to say the least.

You are keeping the belt and side sword for your new kit, right? They really add something to whole look!

yeah i still have the sword and belt i was just in a hurry to get some pics taken.
and hopefully we can meet up again this year at potrero again.
i had a great time last year.
and thanks to everyone for the compliments it make all the time and effort of putting this kit together seem like more than just my own vanity in wanting it to look right.
