Hello folks,

I had hoped to take pictures of this throughout its construction but kind of failed in the middle, I thought folk might like to see how I made this one, not because its the best example of its type (See Gaston for a fave of mine) but simply to share the way I do it and see how it compares to the way others and get us chatting about armour making

The bascinet was an old GDFB I bought about ten years ago with a pig faced visor on it, the visor never opened properly, only really as far as my nose and then we moved the group I am part of's emphasis to 1340-1370's so I figured a new visor was needed sometime and I have finally gotten round to it. Its based loosely on some from the Holkiem Bible and my own aesthetic.

what gauge brass did you use? Looks Great!

Cheers, the brass is 18 gauge throughout, 16 gauge mild for the visor itself.

Top-notch work, as always! It's nice to see some of the more obscure visor forms getting used. Hounskulls and roundnose klappvisors are nice, of course, but variety is the spice of life, as they say.
