Awesome Interpretation of 12th C. Helmet!

Okay, ran across this reproduction of a late 12th century helmet while perusing Google. Check it out! I think some of the details are a bit fanciful and wouldn't construct it like an Ostrogothic spangenhelm. I also have no idea what the bar stock is on the thing for because the straps should just be riveted to the inside. But, it looks pretty groovy nonetheless... Very unique interpretation of a very unique sort of helmet. Cheers!

What a lovely helm...as for the design choices; at least the owner is clear that the design was chosen primarily for aesthetic reasons over historic ones. A shame, I think, but the end result is a nifty helm regardless.

The Baldenhiem spangen is much earlier, but still the a very nice looking helmet,
I have a similar style for heavy list under construction.
I would love to paint it but for an in stock piece color choice would be better left to the owner.

Odd, I had a dream that included a mask very similar to this one. However, the mask was half white and half black down the middle, and I was wearing a black cloak with a hood to go with.

Greenshield, I might have to make something like that soon. I saw a mask like that a while back and have been trying to get a slightly more complex version, more faceted....
