I'm definitely interested. I wear a 3X shirt right now (working on getting slimmer <<sigh>>) and that's an issue with a lot of the maille I've seen for sale. I'd definitely be interested in the long sleeved stainless rivetted or the zinc dipped rivetted. Will muriatic acid really take that off? I can't commit at the moment due to my hours suddenly being cut at work (supposedly that will be fixed soon, if so I can buy neat toys, otherwise I can't).

I dont want to rain on anyones parade but I checked into ordering some stuff from India before. There prices do not include shipping or customs fees. If you order more than $2,000 worth of merchandise you must also hire a customs broker to deal with them. all of this adds up. And just in case this has already been brought up I will shut up now Image

To all:

I have an e-mail I'm working on to send to The Warrior's Mark, to see if we can get enough people in on it. I so far have five people willing to get in on this (including myself). If this is possible, I'd like to get going on this.

Seawolf brings up a valid point, once we figure out how many we will be ordering, I will find out the shipping charge. As far as customs go, you do not have to get a broker, and the import is only 2% for above $2000.

Interested: 8 people (including myself)

How many people does that make---including the Armour Archive folks?

An update:

An SCA knight friend of mine will post the information on prices from The Warrior's Mark to the SCA-Chivalry and SCA-Cynnabar mailing lists. That should gender quite a bit of interest! Image

In the meantime, I sent an e-mail to Warrior's Mark to learn what sleeve diameter and length for both the short sleeved and long sleeved shirts are. He also wants to know how deep the mantle is on the coif with mantle. Stay tuned!

I am setting a deadline of Feb 23thrd for all interested to get in touch with me. What I need is an email telling me what you want. When I have enough for a minimum I will ask for payment. Checks made out to The Warrior's Mark are acceptable. I do take credit cards, so I am willing to take a credit card over the phone for your order. Since I am not making a profit, I ask that you pay the extra user percentage.

The date to have your order in is Feb 23rd, the date for receipt of payment is Mar. 23rd. Shipping once recieved here in the U.S. is still a bit of a mystery, for I am currently trying to broker a set deal with either UPS or FedEx to alleviate shipping cost. Shipping from India, will be no more than $50 per shirt, and will decrease from there based upon the number ordered,in other words weight of the shipment, as does all other forms of air freight. Customs should only be 4-10 dollars per shirt. The lead time on the order will be 3-4 months.

I was planning on placing a mass order and have been getting prices from several Indian companies in the last few weeks (i'ts going a lot slower than I thought)and most riveted hauberk prices I'm getting are running around $200 - $220. I have a price quote coming from another company friday- I'll keep you posted.
One company sent me a sample by airmail 16g 3/8Id riveted, excellent quality for Indian make ( of course, it was a sample) $220 a shirt no minimum order...

well take me off the possable list. I just generated several thousand dollars of medical bills. I won't be buying any new armour for a while, no matter how good a deal it is.

Here's the pics links I got from Warriors Mark. I've sent a reply to his email asking some questions about them already. Chiefly was the question about the 5/16 picture when what we are ordering is supposed to be 3/8.

I’d be interested in buying a shirt of 5/16th ID from these guys. I’ve yet to see a price on that though.

5/16" 16 guage is far better than 3/8". I believe I'd jump in if it was 5/16". How much for:
1) long sleeves
2) short sleeves
3) coif
if it was 5/16" instead of 3/8"?

Where are these from and how can I get one?

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry. I added the tag to the pic incorrectly, the maille is 3/8", not 5/16". My butted comes in 5/16ths, and if you are interested in that please e-mail me, but the rivetted only comes in 3/8ths. I do appologize, and I will fix the pic.

Orion, these come from India, and look back over the posts and you can see that we are making a rivetted maille mass order.

I have good news, I spoke with my supplier today and they have agreed to produce chauses and aventails. We are currently negotiating on prices and sizing, and as soon as I know something I'll pass it on. Thanks.
