For anyone in the area of Timmonium MD in mid March, come by and say hi.

It is just off the Baltimore beltway - I-83 North one or 2 exits.

I have a table (J-29). There are other people with armour (there isn't much, but there is some). There are also a lot of swords and guns, some Japanese armour and a lot of related stuff. In total somewhere 800-900 tables of stuff all in the same room.

I will have some armour on my table, some armour books, some arrow heads, knives and usually a few random other things.

I am willing to bring small specific items if people want to look at them.

And I am happy to just talk. I will be there 9-5 Saturday and 9-3 Sunday. Please stop by, I am often looking for something to do.

I spoke with the wif, and I may actually make it there for a while on Saturday if I'm feeling okay, and if I can get the truck in for repairs. I have one friend, Drey, that will be there manning a table; and my well-armed Quaker friend, Hugh, may also drop in.

The more the merrier.

If Drey is manning a table, he will be there a lot of the time. He can wander by any time he isn't stuck at his table. I will be there or someone will be there who can drag me back to my chair if I am wandering. Seriously, if you don't see me sitting behind J-29 get whoever is there to give me a ring and I can come back. I tend to be quick unless I am deep in the midst of some negotiation.

I hardly ever manage to find the time to hit gun shows anymore- and my life used to revolve around them.

Awsome. Right now am planing to stop by on Saturday and will bring a bunch of WMA folks with me. I will definitly stop by again. Last year was really nice to meet you.

I went last year. Got some really bad-ass arrowheads from Wade, and met his family. Not sure I'll make it up to Blatimore this weekend (Ironically since I've been up there almost every weekend for the past 8 weeks).
I was just waxing poetically looking at photos I took of a selection from Wade's dagger collection. I really appreciate you bringing those up to look at. It was awesome. I look at them often when considering getting replicas for my collection.

The current plan is to save some gas and drive the car not the truck. That makes things a little tighter, but I will still have knives, arrow heads, crossbow bolt heads, a couple of polearms, a 17th c. half suit, some small pieces of armour, books including L'Arte Del Armatura in Italia, European Armour in the Tower of London, Swords and Daggers in the Tower of London, one of the Vienna volumes, etc., the latest piece for my kid (the waistcoat cuirass) and the requested arm and gauntlet for study. I am sure I can find room for some other small stuff if someone wants to see it.

Dinner sounds lovely, and it will be a pleasure to see Kim. We are car-pooling part of the way with Tom Ball, so our plans have to work for him as well.

I've got a 4 hour trip tomorrow, and this is ~3 hours round trip for me too. Gas is a killer lately. I'm not sure if I'll make it out, but an opportunity to meet and talk with Mr MacPherson and Mr Allen is hard to pass up.

I have a few little pieces of armour to play with. I brought the arm and gauntlet that were requested, and some elbows that are relatively early and interesting, and I just bought another one we can discuss. It came as part of "a pair of arms" which bear more discussion. I do also have a few bits for sale - mainly arrow/bolt heads and knives, but a couple of little bits of armour and a composed 17th c. half suit.

There is some armour on other tables. One table is full of armour (not mine). It is well worth looking at for the variety of elements and periods. A very early 16th c. breastplate, a barbute that is illustrated in the Rhodes book, a funerary close helmet, a pikeman's suit, and other stuff. There is another table with a nice etched vamplate, a nice burgonet and a barbute. Another table has a cabasset and morion. There is an embossed and etched cabasset on another table. A table is full of Japanese armour. There are some other bits on a few other tables.

Guns, there are lots of them.

Rapiers, yup, some very nice ones.

And other related stuff.

The first was sold as a pair of arms. It does include a pair of vambraces and another elbow, but they aren't all that good. I will probably put them back together to take a picture, but they won't stay that way. I mainly wanted the elbow, and the spaulders aren't bad. It will take a while to load, there are some big pictures.

The other is my first pieces of recognizable horse armour.

Those "extra" rivets really are extra. This is part of the archaeology of dealing with surviving pieces that haven't been treated all that well during their lives. The pair of spare rivets are holding a patch together where the lame cracked at the crease. If you look closely under the single rivet you will see similar cracking. I think it was put there to stabilize the area.

Neither set of "spare" rivets would have been there when it was in use.
