So today i made a shield boss, kinda...
i was just ahmmering it out the old fashioned way, no nice clamps or jigs, as nice as theya are... but yea, i was almost finished when it got a lovley crack in the very tip.grrr.
anyways, to my point/newbie question...
is this just because the metal work hardened to much, or did i just stretch it to thin.

by the way, imho they make damn good frisbees, as i found out when it cracked. went about 300 feet off a light toss

What kinda steel. What's your hammer like? I've dished a lot of bosses the old fashioned way.

List steel type, thickness etc.

How deep did you get it?

Were you working from the outside in or the inside out.

Really describe your hammer it could be the problem and so could the metal.
