Talbot sells a pattern and instructions for $5.

http://talbotsfineaccessories.com/books/metalwork.html

Search for "barbute" on that page.

I expect that it is a 3 piece pattern - two offset football shapes and a vertical tube that you raise in and flair out.

But that is just a guess based on the fact that I have done several that way, Talbot's general methods tend to be similar to ours and I think someone was trying to get some advice on how to fit the parts from Talbot's pattern and it looked like the 2 part top.

Sizing...

It is basically just a bascinet with no point and most of the rest of the details moved around.

I have several of talbots patters, but his barbute isn't quite what Im looking for. Was a guy use to come out to the old rokeldon practice years ago that had a truly rockin t slot barbute, Im trying to find a pattern that comes close to it. Talbots patters are nice though.

As it stands this sentence is maddening in its lack of detail. But.

But the questions it would raise should be fruitful. They're all under the umbrella of "Which details have to change" for it to come out as desired. Because the way you put it you think it's close.

Talbot's barbuta pattern does X -vs.- Y is desired. How to tweak, then? That's how the question really should be put.

I imagine there is a list of does-X/Y's-wanted. Let's see that list.

The T face is of course easy enough to lay out -- it's all in the nape frill/lower half anyway. How closely do you intend to fit it to the wearer's cheekbones?

Until I get either contacts or Lasik, close fitted T-face barbutes are a nonstarter for me personally -- room for spectacles remains a desired design feature.
