Per this recent post on Chinese armor - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=158106&hilit=chinese

There appears to be mini lamellar plates for the arms - http://www.mythbbs.net/bbs/attachments/ ... .thumb.jpg

Sounds like an interesting idea to me. Anyone ever try this?

A lot of Roman lames are about "finger" size. I don't think these deserve the title "mini".

Romans did scale armor not lamellar to my knowledge.

Most modern recreations of lamellar have large plates, including some of the mongolian recreations. The smaller size plates are interesting as it might allow greater flexibility.
