My (sorta) new armor
OK, i'm gonna try to put some links here to show my new armor. It's about 2 months old right now, and I have a new set in the works already. I made the body... not the helm. That is fairly new too, from Master Tearlach.

How did you make your splinted vambraces? Do the splints have any taper to them? Do they rattle at your wrist? I was thinking of making a pair like that, but was unsure how they'd turn out.

OK, the vambraces are very simple. There is no taper, but there should be. I'm wearing them over something to make them work right now.
They are just splints riveted to straps with buckles. Saw something like them in an osprey book on Byzantine armour. went from there. These took about 1/ hour to 45 mins.

Nah, too small
You should have seen the last event up here...
Tealach shark fins all over the place. Funny part was, 3 were from Aethelmarc...
Thank you for the compliments. Like I said, new armor on the way, gotta improve...

WMA, I just looked at your website, and noticed you're from Deerfield. I went to the Deerfield Fair (not medieval faire) when I was younger. Small world.
Have you ever made it to any the North's regional practices, usually in VT? Northern Army playtime, generally all melee. Fun time.

thats a gas, i work the deerfield fair selling my casting and ive even sold armour there, all those bikers that come out at night realy like the stuff.
Are you from the mountain freehold? i got turned onto the sca by lord Arundel ap Tuatha Preachain he used to be a marshal up there, i have not seen him since college (1986)
I dont make it up your way often but should, im sure id recognize a few of you all, occasionally i get to play with master gwen and sir artos from bellows falls but i have not seen them since birka. Will you be attending Boredom war? how bout S&M war?
If you have any new fighters bring them to stonemarches golden sword novice tourney this summer, id like to be able to get the attendance level up from last year.

Nope, I'm from Northern Outpost in upstateNY (Potsdam)
We play a lot with Freehold though, Northern practices are usually once a month, so we get to see a bunch of them often. Master Tearlach has one Squire from this Shire, plus we see Sir Thorson fairly often.
My problem is that I'm awful with names.
Arundel is still around in freehold, I don't really know him though.
I'm not sure about making events, but I'll definitely try. Anything SCA with "war" attatched attracts my attention, i love melee fighting. We have a few newbies, I'll definitely try to get some of them to road trip out there.
