Arrgggghh... they do not let people walk around inside the junk yard. "Insurance issue sir, you will fall into the scrap metal and hurt yourself” ... Muhahahah, they have never seen my shop.

Well this is the latest development pic of this project... the tool holder:

When I don’t have anything to do I will try carving on the 2” round bar with my plasma torch. I think that would make a great YouTube. Yes?

how about people who fix their own vehicles, when I was younger I made chassis, rear axles and lots more, I always had used parts around and often bits to get rid of, who do you get to fix things you cant do on your own vehicles, you could ask them if they get x can they save it for you?
a pair of half shafts may be equal to a can or two of beer and getting a can or two of beer for junk they would have to get rid of is a bonus
forges, stake plates, tools and lots more

I have done business with a guy that fixes big trucks.
Well his dad first, then he died and the kid took over.
The kid was an orphan from Vietnam.
He has done quite well with the truck repair his dad started.

However... he don't drink beer.

well he must like something, see if he will sell you interesting items that he replaces, a broken half shaft from something big is worth very little to him but could be the top for 5 more behemoths and it will be hard.
you may need to explain some of the shapes you need until he gets the idea that saving funny looking bits of scrap is profitable

ball bearings, the inner and out parts of ball races, shafts and gearbox parts, wear parts from excavators
forges, stake plates, tools and lots more
