I've been browsing late period armor when I noticed some suits that appear "browned".
For example here

and here

Is this a form of russeting?
A chemical treatment technique?
A painting technique?
Aged patina?

Is the brass edging painted? treated?

What can you tell me?

Often, its bluing that has patinated. A deep indigo with gold accent pieces was a popular style.

Holey crap Thoog made all that?
That is some amazing stuff

Many commercial patina russet compounds are available.
That brown can be achieved with Japanese Brown from sculpt nouveau.
A touch of black and a green scrubby pad with oil will antique it somewhat.
Check out sculpt nouveau on YouTube for instructional videos.
Or visit their web site.

No... I do not work for those guys.
