Er, ball pein and claw are mutually exclusive hammer types. But yeah, that'll work.

i ment that to read, i took a claw hammer and turnied it into a ball pien hammer for my rivets and forming. also i think i finaly got the first cop ready for planishing what do you guys think?

All right so far.

Dish. You won't need a lot. With a slight dish, the lames ride together neatly in flexure.

About the fiebings dye...
I would say that the fiebings alcohol dye is good but their new eco flow dye is pretty crappy...

Also if you're going to be dying one plain simple color like black I'd almost say to dye it before hardening (or during while the leather is still damp) otherwise it gets a bit spotty in places....

Also later I found that testors (yes the model paint company) makes a cheap airbrush that uses canned air (or they make a little compressor for it (but that's splurging)) and will lay a nice eaven uniform coat of leather dye (expecially if the leather is slightly damp)
As a bonus the airbrush will allow you to use cardboard or other stuff as a resist to get different effects from multiple color dyes easily
