I have a Klappvisor bascinet.
I also have Talbots plans for an Early 15th centuy great Bascinet.

How hard to you think the conversion would be? I don't think it would be terribly hard, the hardest part is already done!

her eis the picture of the helmet I have Image

The visor ataches with a bolt and a smal pin.
And the a strap buckles it closed. There really wouldnt be that much I think.

Opinions?

Proceed, for you already have the plans. It's a neglected type of helmet. And you can trade off your camail to some XIV-Cento Mafioso who will hang it better than you did! I'm so mean!

Or else to a XVI-century Landsknecht for a bishop's-mantle. It's huge!

Oh I know. That was put on in a rush for a demo. Its way to long, and the main reason it looks so horrible is that the leather strap wasn't really big enough to fit around the helmet. I had to stretch and cajole it to fit over the vervelles. Which, it didn't fit over all of them. :P

The only thing I am proceeding with caution is that my wife bought me this helmet as a wedding gift.
I might just find an already made bascinet "bowl" and put this on on the shelf for display.
