Is there any new paints or process to do limited painting on stainless steel?
Thanks

As far as I know you can.

Use a primer and paint when the metal is warm (like room temperature, not low oven).

Depending on the polish you may need to use steel wool.

I suspect that you can skip the zinc undercoat that I use on my outdoor ironwork.

Clean metal and rustoleum spray-paint works pretty damn good on stainless, mild and aluminum. Yes it can scrape off but only powder-coat is more durable and that can also scrape off.

Sure.

Just roughen the surface with 100grit sandpaper. Clean, then apply a self etching primer. The apply acrylic or Latex paint. Then clear coat enamel.

I'm assuming you are asking about a stainless helmet?
